Amit Shah arrested, taken to court

Ahmedabad: Former Gujarat minister Amit Shah was on Sunday arrested by the CBI in connection with the 2005 staged killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh after he held a dramatic press conference and denied all charges against him.
Shah arrived at the CBI headquarters in Gandhinagar but wasn't allowed to go inside the building. CBI officers waiting outside told him he is being arrested and then drove him to the residence of Judicial Magistrate A Y Dave for remand.
CNN-IBN learns Shah will be asked about his role in the conspiracy to abduct and kill Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausar Bi. He will also be asked about his misuse of his official power. Shah earlier surfaced dramatically at a press conference by BJP in Ahmedabad on Sunday and claimed the allegations against him were "fabricated and politically motivated".
Shah, who had been missing since Thursday, walked in at a press conference where the BJP state unit chief R C Faldu was addressing the press. Shah, who has been charge-sheeted by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) said he would go to the investigating agency's office after the conference.
"I am going straight to the CBI office from here... I haven't got the chargesheet copy, but from the contents which are coming in the media... (I want to say that) the accusations against me are fabricated, politically motivated and framed on the behest of the Congress government," Shah told reporters.
He demanded that his submission before the CBI should be "videographed". "When this matter comes before court, I am sure that none of the claims against me will stand," Shah said, adding that he had full faith in the justice system.
Shah submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.
