Rahul's aide goes missing mysteriously in UP
New Delhi: Nishant Patel, a key member of Rahul Gandhi's youth brigade, went missing under mysterious circumstances from his hotel room in Hardoi. He was last seen in the hotel lobby at around 5 am on 2nd of July. Nishant's belongings were found scattered in his room along with his cell phone which was also left there.
"He was staying in Utsav Hotel at Kotwali area. He hasn't taken anything of his use. His mobile phone and other stuffs are lying as it were in the hotel room. He was there till morning. He chatted and had dinner with everyone Monday night. We are searching for him. He was traceable till morning. He was seen going to the registration by rickshaw in the morning. We couldn't find any specific reason behind his being missing," said Gautam, Addl Superintendent of Police of Hardoi.
Nishant is the son of Congress spokesperson and former Gujrat Chief Minister Hasmukh Bhai Patel. He has been bestowed with the responsibility of Mission 2012 by Rahul Gandhi himself. Congressmen who met Nishant before he went missing said he appeared to be upset. "He was chosen by Indian National Youth Congress for Lok Sabha. We don't have any idea about his current location. He has left his mobile in hotel room. We are waiting for him. We have told our organisation leaders and we are searching for him. Yes, we have informed police and they are searching for him at their level. Monday night, we had dinner together. Even PRO came to had dinner with us. Then we went to our respected room," said Veer Pal Singh, an office-bearer of the Congress party.
Nishant's sudden disappearance from his hotel room has created a stir among the political circuit of Gujarat. The police has swung into action and the investigation are underway.
