How Gyaneshwari Express was derailed killing 148

Kolkata: In West Bengal there has been a breakthrough in the May 28 train attack case as one of the key accused has confessed to his involvement in derailing of the Gyaneshwari Express in Jhargram as well as his links to the Maoists.
People's Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA) leader Bapi Mahato, who was arrested on June 20 in Jamshedpur, has told interrogators that Maoist leader Kisenji was aware of the planned attack on the Mumbai-bound train which left 148 people dead. He has also accepted the involvement of one Umakanto and Asit Mahato in the planning of the attack. As of now, both of these men are absconding.
Mahato revealed that a local railway contractor was given the job of removing chips and sabotaging the railway track in Jhargram.
The PCPA leader also told interrogators that more than 800 locals also took part in the final meeting before attack. He said the attack was carried out to teach security forces a lesson.
However, his most astonishing claim so far is that the Maoists kidnapped him to show their displeasure over the death of 148 civilians in the train attack. Police are now verifying the facts.
Police trapped him after intercepting his conversation with other PCPA leaders.
