Reframe charges against Bhopal offenders: report

New Delhi: The five-member committee set up by the Madhya Pradesh government to look into the judgment in the Bhopal gas tragedy verdict has submitted its report. The report, which CNN-IBN has exclusive access to, says the state should file a curative petition in the Supreme Court.
The petition would urge the SC to re-look into its verdict that diluted charges against the accused including Keshub Mahindra, then non-executive chairman of Union Carbide. The committee also wants a curative petition for better compensation.
The report says the state should request the Union government to form a joint task force to bring former Union Carbide chief Anderson and other accused to justice.
The report also says the state should file an appeal in the Court of Session against the Bhopal verdict given on June 7.
