6 dead as Cong, CPM workers clash in Bengal


Kolkata: At least six people have been killed and 20 others injured in clashes between Congress and Communist Party of India-Marxists supporters at Murshidabad in West Bengal.
The violent clashes started on Sunday with both groups using crude bombs and firing at each other. The clashes are still going on.

The clashes broke out at Ghughupara under Islampur police station over the election of a school management committee, IGP (Law and Order) Surajit Kar Purakayastha said. Three persons have already been detained for interrogation. Tension has been prevailing in the area and senior police officers have been sent to the spot.
