UP kids death: FIR filed against 2 doctors


Lucknow: Hours after four children died due to administration of spurious vaccines in Uttar Pradesh, the state government has filed FIRs against two doctors and three health officials.
Parents said their children became unconscious after being vaccinated and didn't recover thereafter. A magisterial inquiry has also been ordered into the incident and the vaccination programme will remain suspended till the investigation is completed.

The Union Health Ministry will send a two-member team to Lucknow to probe the kids deaths. Meanwhile the state government has decided to provide a monetary aid of Rs 50,000 to the parents of deceased children.
"Prima facie it seems that the incident occured due to spurious vaccine. This is a very serious incident. We will take appropriate action. Compensation of Rs 50,000 will be given to the families," said DM & CMO AnilSagar.
Four children died allegedly after they were administered vaccines at primary health centres near Lucknow. Many children are reported to be sick after the vaccination drive was carried out in Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow.
