Leh: Over 500 still missing, rescue on
Srinagar: 120 people have so far been declared dead and over 500 reported missing on Sunday, two days after a cloudburst that caused flash floods in Leh town.
Bodies of two out of 27 jawans, who went missing in the Shyok valley near Siachen have been found on Sunday. Two days after the natural disaster, massive relief and rescue work continues in Leh.
However, rescue operations were hampered due to multiple landslides that took place on Saturday. Leh has remained cut off by road therefore relief material has been being flown in by air. Airforce planes and several army helicopters have been pressed into service. Six aircrafts of the Airforce have landed at the cleaned-up Leh Airport with 29 tons of relief material.
